BM2, I was stating for you to print out the PQS, then show them how to line handle standing 6 feet back from all cleats, chocks, and bitts. Stay out of the bight of the line. The normal spill that ALL boatswain's mates live by. You might even want to break out line and show them basic line handling skills, show them different bends, hitches, and knots. The best thing to do is take them to a ship and get with a BM to give them proper hands on training. This is a "basic qualifcation" its not rig captain or BMOW. Make it easy as possible and move on! Who is the cheif writing these exams? Are you serious? What lead do we use in lead line? Hell, were BM'S! Nuts and bolts in a leather pouch... Now, here is the other point, the navy has helped make me a soldier or brown water navy/ dirt sailor. Where is that on the exam? Hell, i deploy with EOD, ask me how to break down a weapon and drive a Hummv! Don't ask me how much paint i will need to paint out a 12 x 32ft space. Had to vent boats...Bless you all and i feel your pain.. We of all people need a union!

Boats, Hands on training is always the best way to go !!! The bookworm and computer Navy should always take a back seat to a Deck Seaman/Boatswainsmate that really wants to learn the rate, so the Navy doesn't have BM'S that can't tie a knot or even splice. God Bless all you BM's and the rest of the Sailors' serving this Great Country !!!

Your a Boatswain's Mate, just print the PQS out for line handler and go over it and explain the do's and don't and show them how to line handle and sign them off. This is a very easy PQS to get signed off.

Just to let everyone know. I have closed down the store for a short period of time. I have had some major shipping issues. I have since fired the personnel and am regrouping to do it myself. If you have any issues please let me know.

Hey Chief, It's decent to know that you've got some huevos, but you'd never hurt my feelings. Maybe, piss me off alittle, but it comes with the territory whenever you submit e-mails that strangers read and don't know the individual intentions when they write them. There was no slap to the senior enlisted face. You must be in La-La land if you really believe that the sailors today are not being lied to. All sailors want is a honest answer. In today Navy, Sailors submit request chits and when they ask about the status of the chits, they get a run around by most of their seniors(knowing damn well, the chit is still in their in basket). I can go on and on, but I don't need to explain my leadership style to you or anyone else, my record speaks for itself. Besides even though I made rate, my record still look like an EKG. I mentioned that I was in the Navy for over 30 yrs. If you were on active duty after 1984, you would've known that you had to be a Masterchief to go beyond 26 yrs. because high year tenure for a Senior Chief is 26 yrs. Just for your info, I retired as a BMCM, with no pole smoking or ass kissing allowed. By the way, I did do almost 24 yrs of sea time and 21 yrs of 30 yrs. in khaki's. I will let you know that when I was on active duty I took my job seriously and sailors that had to deal with me can attest to that. I refer to my name only because I cut the umbilical cord, I am no longer a Masterchief !!God Bless All of our Armed Forces world wide.
